2019 was fu*king fantastic. I got MYSELF back. Becoming a mother is wonderful, the greatest experience (for me) — however, I felt like I lost myself. I mean, for fuck’s sake, I was wearing floral dresses! Dafuq?! Whether you wear all-black or bright florals, it doesn’t change the kind of mother you are and want to be.
I got ME back … and then some.
My physical and mental health was clear. I began seeing progress in my journey of postpartum fitness, and it brought that confident AF Sandra back.
I learned to be more patient and understanding. Not just with others, but with myself. It’s okay to be a work in progress.
I brought Grimy Goods back to speed after scaling back while figuring how to be the best mom to my daughter, while building this here new brand.
With Grimy Diapers, which is actually rebranding to SO Modern Life (the very Blog you’re reading right now), I skyrocketed my goals out of the atmosphere. The benchmarks I had originally set for myself at the start of the year were met instantly, and surpassed as the year progressed. I inked some notable partnerships, built long-term client relationships, and with the help of my husband Bryan Olinger, together we created some very elevated video content. I’m really excited about that, and what’s to come. You know yo’ girl has got some plans already in action.
Funny enough, I never officially launched this here blog. As a digital marketing specialist, it was most important to test organic SEO with just a few blog posts before diving into all the hubub and promo that comes with launching a new site, especially after owning a seasoned, very well known blog. Let’s just say Google made friends with SO Modern Life pretty quickly. With that said, official launch to follow in 2020!

I must admit, I’m super proud of what I’ve accomplished this year. I’m not one to celebrate my successes, I mean, Grimy Goods is going on 12 years and I never even did a proper celebration and accomplishments when I hit my 10-year. Nor my 11-year …
With that said, you can read all about my accomplishments here.
Setting goals and nailing them is something I’ve been doing since high school. Growing up WITHOUT a silver spoon in my mouth to two very amazing immigrant parents, made me work extremely hard for all that I have today. Anytime I succeeded, I’d move on to the next goal. Well, you know what?
I’M REALLY FUCKING STOKED ON MYSELF
It’s hard enough being a very involved full-time mama. It was even harder for me to be that mama AND maintain Grimy Goods WHILE growing a new brand. Not to mention, still doing occasional digital marketing consulting for my client.
With that said, I wouldn’t be where I am today without the love and support of my husband and partner in everything, Bryan Olinger. As well as my beautiful mama, and my dedicated team of writers and photographers at Grimy Goods.
I leave you with some photos from 2019 that bring me great happiness, as well as some of my favorite content creations of the year. Cheers to 2020!
