Halloween is nigh and there are so many fun and free Halloween events for kids happening all over Los Angeles. From Pasadena and Downtown Los Angeles, to Santa Monica and Venice, there is no shortage of family-friendly and free Halloween events in L.A. Kids and their family and friends can enjoy everything from Halloween festivals, magic shows and plenty of spooky arts and crafts events, as well as Día de Muertos (Day of the Dead) events.

Oct. 15 — Mini Fall Festival in Santa Monica

Families on the West side, or willing to make the trek out, can celebrate pumpkin season at the Virginia Avenue Park Mini Fall Festival. Taking place October 15, 2022, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., the Mini Fall Festival, part of the Saturday Pico Farmers’ Market, will feature: a seasonal craft kit prepared by the Santa Monica Public Library, a free pumpkin to take home and carve (while supplies last) a photo booth, and the central feature of the event is the one-of-a-kind handblown glass pumpkins by Santa Monica College Glass Department students. Oct. 19 — Spooktacular Crafts for Kids at Eagle Rock Public Library

Kids in the cozy nooks of North East Los Angeles can enjoy a fun day of Halloween arts and crafts at this spooky and sweet Halloween crafting extravaganza. From pumpkin art to lollipop bats, and spider crafts get your ghoul art skills on at this creative sensory event. More info.

Oct. 20 – Psychic Buster’s Halloween Magic Show at One Colorado Pasadena

Of all the fun free events in Los Angeles, nothing tops the offering at One Colorado in Pasadena. We are always here with our little one whether enjoying a movie at iPic of grabbing sushi at Sushi Roku, or attending the many fun and free events hosted in the courtyard of Hugus Alley. This fun Halloween magic event starts at 4:30pm until 5pm and will feature Psychic Buster Balloon on stage with their variety show of creepy comedy and spooky magic that will have everyone howling and screeching with delight. Oct. 22 – Rocktober at Santa Monica Pier

Get ready to be put under a spell of fun, Hocus Pocus-style! Enjoy the festivities along Main Street on October 22 when it transforms into a pedestrian plaza! From 11am to 8pm enjoy live music, Halloween activities, local vendors, food, drink and more! There’s even a costume contest and pet parade! More info.

Oct. 22 – Grand Ave Arts All Access in Downtown L.A.

Los Angeles is a playground for arts and culture and on Oct. 22 many people will have a chance to experience a lot of it for FREE! From 11am to 4pm institutions along Grand Avenue open their doors to visitors for a day of free workshops, performances, tours, and interactive events. Explore art, music, dance, literature, and more in the most festive of ways. From making Dia De Muertos sugar skulls at the Los Angeles Public Library to viewing more than 50 gorgeous altars in Grand Park or taking a composition workshop with the LA Phil, you can also explore free fun at The Broad, The Music Center, and MOCA to name a few.
